Elizabeth Banks sells a sitcom to Fox

Funny lady Elizabeth Banks and her husband, producer Max Handelman has sold a single-camera comedy to Fox titled Dave’s Dead, which has been described by the media as a mix of My Name is Earl and Shaun of the Dead (a 2004 British zombie movie). The specifics of the plot have yet to be revealed, but it should be similar to the 2004 movie in which it is based from. Dave’s primary focus will probably be on him juggling relationships with his girlfriend, mother, and stepfather, while also being able to see zombies/monsters (which I dont see coming off too well).

Its a shame that Banks wont be appearing in this show at all. In my opinion, Elizabeth Banks is one of the funniest actresses in Hollywood now. She kills as Jack Donaghy’s wife Avery Jessup on 30 Rock (for which she has been nominated for an Emmy ), and she has had hilarious guest appearances on Modern Family (which she didnt receive an Emmy nomination for, and I dont understand why), as well as a major recurring role on Scrubs. This would be the perfect vehicle for her to showcase her comedic talents and make everyone happy by being on TV regularly every week.

Hopefully as this show develops at Fox, somebody can convince her to take the role as the girlfriend so this show can go on top of my must watch list!
