CBS, the home of the longest-running reality competition franchise Survivor, announced today that the show will be around for at least two more cycles – through season 26.
Survivor, which is currently in its 23rd season, is averaging 12.3 million viewers in its Wednesday, 8p.m. timeslot this season. Four-time Emmy Award winning host Jeff Probst will continue as host and executive producer of Survivor for its upcoming seasons, despite getting his own syndicated talk show through CBS TV Studios, which that’s set to debut in September 2012.
In addition to getting a two season pick-up, CBS has also announced that the 24th season of Survivor will premiere on Wednesday, February 15th.
The 25th and 26th seasons of Survivor will air on CBS during the 2012-2013 TV season starting next September.
