NBC announced yesterday that during the month of December, Saturday Night Live will have three back-to-back live shows with hosts Katy Perry and Jimmy Fallon, joining previously announced host, Steve Buscemi.
Instead of performing, Katy Perry will be focusing on comedy when she host SNL on December 10th. Perry was a musical guest on SNL last season and appeared in a few sketches (and did a pretty good job actually). This may be Perry’s first time hosting SNL, but she’s no stranger to comedy, as she has guest starred on CBS’ How I Met Your Mother, and was a voice in this summers Smurfs film. Not to mention her husband is comedian Russell Brand, who hosted in February, and is sure to be making a cameo when his wife hosts in December. Perry will be joined by musical guest Robyn, who is making her SNL debut. Robyn opened for Perry on her worldwide Teenage Dream tour.
Saturday Night Live alum Jimmy Fallon will make his SNL hosting debut on December 17th with Grammy award winner Michael Buble. Fallon was a regular on SNL from 1998 to 2006, when he decided to leave to pursue other ventures after leaving his mark on SNL, most notably co-anchoring Weekend Update with Tina Fey. Fallon is currently the host of NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Michael Buble will make his second appearance on SNL as a musical guest showcasing music from his latest album “Crazy Love.”
December is shaping up to be another great month for Saturday Night Live lovers.
Saturday Night Live airs Saturday at 1130p.m. on NBC.
