Simon Cowell is considering doing a little judge swapping on his hit reality show The X-Factor for next season.
Rumors are swirling in America, as will as in London, that two X-Factor judges will be switching jobs for the next round of shows. Current judge of Fox’s The X-Factor Nicole Scherzinger may be heading over to London for The X-Factor UK next fall. The judge that can be taking her place on the American edition of the show: Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland.
Rowland is already the judge on the UK edition of the show, taking the place of former judge Cheryl Cole, who made the transition to the American show, but was replaced by Scherzinger after 2 weeks because she wasn’t connecting with the American audience. Scherzinger hasn’t been the hit in the U.S. either in Cowell’s opinion, according to reports, despite being a known artist in the states, leading the pop girl group The Pussycat Dolls.
Cowell is looking to re-vamp the show and give it a few adjustments for the second season after The X-Factor failed to hit the 20 million viewer mark this semester like Cowell originally envisioned. The show is still a solid performer on Fox in its Wednesday and Thursday night timeslots.
Nothing has been set in stone yet, but there is a strong possibility that this switch may happen, and Kelly Rowland could be sitting on The X-Factor judging panel with Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and L.A. Reid next September.
Catch The X-Factor on Fox Wednesdays from 8p.m.-930p.m. and Thursdays at 8p.m.
