Game of Thrones took its first Emmy awards by storm in September, securing 13 nominations and winning two awards, including one for star Peter Dinklage for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
It isn’t a surprise that HBO is trying to lock down multiple seasons on of this serialized drama. While this is all still in rumors phase, generated by a popular Game of Thrones fan site Winter is Coming , having the show locked down for two more seasons would be great for the cast and crew associated with the series so production can start early.
If these rumors are true, and Game of Thrones will shoot the third and fourth seasons back-to-back in the fashion of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, which would tell a story together. Members of the fan site speculate that if this rumor is true, Game of Thrones seasons three and four will tell the story from A Storm of Swords, the third book in the series by Martin.
While these rumors aren’t likely to be a reality until the second season starts airing in April 2012.
