Fox has announced that the high school comedy/drama will be showcasing songs from the King of Pop. Just like the Madonna themed episode from season 1, the Michael Jackson themed episode will feature 10 to 12 songs from his extensive musical library. According to Fox, writers are putting the finishing touches on the script right now, and shooting on half of the episode will begin as early as this Friday, while the remaining half of the episode will be shot after the cast returns from their holiday break.
This tribute won’t be the first time that Glee has used songs from the King of Pop. In tonight’s episode titled “Sectionals,” various characters will sing songs from the legendary Jackson family. Finn, Puck, Blaine, and Mike will sing “Man in the Mirror,” Blaine and Sam will sing Janet Jackson’s “Control,” and Tina, Kurt, and Mike will to a rendition of the Jackson 5’s “ABC.” Glee also did a song and dance number to Jackson’s “Thriller” for the Glee post Super Bowl episode last year.
As of now, the songs that will be used for the show have not yet been announced.
Glee: The Michael Jackson tribute will air Tuesday, January 24th at 8p.m. on Fox.
