Cable network FX has been riding high lately with its comedies Louie, Wilfred, Archer, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia for a while now. The League can be added to that list, since the network announced today the comedy will be returning for a 4th season.
The League follows the members of a fantasy football league (Mark Duplass, Nick Kroll, and Paul Scheer) around their normal lives, while doing whatever it takes to win in their league.
Currently in its 3rd season, The League has been up in the ratings across the board this season, making it a shoe-in for renewal. The show has been averaging 1.7 million viewers, and 1.5 million viewers in the 18-49 demo. Up 25 and 32% respectively vs. last year.
“The League continues to be one of our most successful comedy series both creatively and from a ratings standpoint,” said FX’s Executive VP Nick Grad
Season 4 of The League will consist of 13 episodes, beginning to air late next year.
The League airs on FX, Thursdays at 1030p.m.
