HBO is cleaning house today by cancelling 3 comedies. How to Make it in America is being cancelled after two seasons, while both Hung and Bored to Death are both getting the axe after 3 seasons.
The shows may have escaped cancellation if they were awards magnets. Enlightened starring Laura Dern has earned both SAG and Golden Globe nominations, and has been picked up for a second season.
HBO seems to be making way for a slew of new shows. With Entourage done, and Curb Your Enthusiasm star Larry David making his mind up to return for an eighth seaspn, HBO is making way for an all new comedy lineup.
New HBO shows to come include Girls from Judd Apatow, Veep starring Julia Louis-Dreyfuss, Life’s Too Short from Ricky Gervias, and Angry Boys.
