Showtime is in a great place right now. The cable network has given early renewals to its entire Sunday night line-up, which includes House of Lies, Shameless, and Californication.
The new Don Cheadle starring comedy House of Lies have been renewed for its second season, Shameless has an early renewal for its third season, and Californication has been picked up for its sixth season. The entire Sunday line-up has been up double digits compared to this time last year, making the decision very easy for the network to keep all three of these shows around.
Shameless has been averaging a healthy 4.75 million viewers this season, up 30% vs. season 2, and is ranked the number 2 cable rated show on the network behind Dexter. Californication has been averaging 2.96 million viewers this season, up 10% vs. season 4, and House of Lies is on track to be Showtime’s highest-rated comedy.
It’s great to know that Showtime is putting faith into these unique comedies and keeping viewers happy by keeping them around a little while longer.
