TV Ratings for Thursday, Feb 2nd: “Big Bang” beats “Idol” again, “30 Rock”, “The Office” hits series lows

Fox led the night in the key demo of adults 18-49 on Thursday night with new episodes of American Idol (17.12 million viewers, A18-49: 5.4), and The Finder (6.93 million viewers, A18-49: 2.4).

CBS claimed second in the 18-49 demo, but first in total viewers (14.10 million viewers) thanks to new episodes of The Big Bang Theory (16.38 million viewers, A18-49: 5.4),  Rob (11.28 million viewers, A18-49: 3.4), Person of Interest (14.92 million viewers, A18-49: 3.4), and The Mentalist (13.54 million viewers, A18-49: 2.8). The Big Bang Theory beat American Idol in the 8p.m. hour in total viewers and in the 18-49 demo for the third time this season.

ABC placed third with new episodes of Winter Wipeout (5.93 million viewers, A18-49: 1.8), Grey’s Anatomy (9.64 million viewers, A18-49: 3.5), and Private Practice (6.65 million viewers, A18-49: 2.3).

NBC finished in fourth place, barely ahead of The CW with new episodes of 30 Rock (3.21 million viewers, A18-49: 1.3), Parks and Recreation (3.65 million viewers, A18-49: 1.8), The Office (5.27 million viewers, A18-49: 2.7), Up All Night (3.76 million viewers, A18-49: 1.8), and the last Thursday airing of The Firm (2.98 million viewers, A18-49: 0.8).

The CW finished the night with new episode of The Vampire Diaries (2.72 million viewers, A18-49: 1.2) and The Secret Circle (1.75 million viewers, A18-49: 0.7).
