TV Ratings for Thursday, March 1st: “Awake” gives NBC a boost on Thursdays

On a night full of repeats, Fox easily dominated the night thanks to a 2-hour edition of American Idol (18.28 million viewers, A18-49: 5.3).

CBS stayed in second place with its all-repeat lineup of The Big Bang Theory (11.11 million viewers, A18-49: 3.2), the season finale of Rob (9 million viewers, A18-49: 2.6), and repeats of Person of Interest (9.48 million viewers, A18-49: 1.8) and The Mentalist (8.87 million viewers, A18-49: 1.7).

NBC moved up to third place on Thursday with all-new episodes of 30 Rock (3.77 million viewers, A18-49: 1.4), Parks and Recreation (3.78 million viewers, A18-49: 1.7), The Office (4.96 million viewers, A18-49: 2.5), Up All Night (3.48 million viewers, A18-49: 1.6) and the series premiere of Awake (6.25 million viewers, A18-49: 1.9). Awake premiered 52% above the premiere of The Firm, as well as being NBC’s highest rated show in the timeslot since April 15th, 2010.

ABC placed fourth with repeats of Winter Wipeout (4.55 million viewers, A18-49: 1.3), Grey’s Anatomy (3.44 million viewers, A18-49: 1.1), and a rebroadcast of Jimmy Kimmel Live: After the Academy Awards (3.04 million viewers, A18-49: 1.0).

The CW offered up encores of The Vampire Diaries (1.11 million viewers, A18-49: 0.4) and Supernatural (0.95 million viewers, A18-49: 0.3).
