Connie Britton joins ABC’s “Nashville”

ABC has signed one of TV’s biggest stars right now, Connie Britton, to their drama pilot Nashville.
Nashville is described by ABC as “family soap about love, country, family, politics, and sex” set against the backdrop of music scene in Nashville, Tennessee. Britton will star as Rayna James, a country superstar who is shocked to find her stardom fading and her label requires her to team up to do a tour with teen sensation Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere), or she’ll be dropped from her label.
Britton just recently wrapped up a successful one season run on FX’s anthology/horror series American Horror Story, and also spent five seasons on the NBC/DirecTV drama series Friday Night Lights, where she earned two Emmy nominations.
