TV Rating for Thursday, March 8th: “Big Bang” beats “Idol”, again

Both CBS and Fox split first place in the 18-49 demo on Thursday thanks to new episodes of American Idol (16.98 million viewers, A18-49: 4.8), and The Finder (7.28 million viewers, A18-49: 2.3) on Fox.

New episodes of The Big Bang Theory (15.22 million viewers, A18-49: 5.1) beat Idol in the 8-830p.m. timeslot, followed by a repeat of The Big Bang Theory (12.87 million viewers, A18-49: 4.0), then new episodes of Person of Interest (15.78 million viewers, A18-49: 3.4), and The Mentalist (13.79 million viewers, A18-49: 2.8)

NBC moved up to third place this week with new episodes of 30 Rock (3.49 million viewers, A18-49: 1.4), Parks and Recreation (3.77 million viewers, A18-49: 1.9), The Office (4.97 million viewers, A18-49: 2.6), Up All Night (3.54 million viewers, A18-49: 1.7), and week two of Awake (4.25 million viewers, A18-49: 1.6) – down 16% compared to last week.

ABC had to settle for fourth place with repeats of Winter Wipeout (4.56 millIon viewers, A18-49: 1.3), Grey’s Anatomy (4.09 million viewers, A18-49: 1.4), and GCB (3.84 million viewers, A18-49: 1.3).

Finally, repeats of The Vampire Diaries (1.17 million viewers, A18-49: 0.4) and Supernatural (0.89 million viewers, A18-49: 0.3 rounded out the night for The CW.
