“The Voice” star Adam Levine set to join “American Horror Story”

Maroon 5 frontman and The Voice coach Adam Levine may be branching out a little bit from the singing aspect of his career and moving to scripted television as soon as this fall.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Levine is in final negotiations to appear in the second season of FX’s American Horror Story. In Levine’s first television acting role, the singer will play one half of a new couple called “The Lovers.” Levine is wanted on the set of AHS so bad that producers are willing to shoot around his summer touring schedule, which confirms how bad he is wanted on the show. Levine joining AHS won’t interfere with his coaching duties on The Voice.

Even though Levine’s (and the rest of the show’s season 2 plot) is being kept severely under wraps, we do know that original cast members Jessica Lange, Even Peters, Lily Rabe, Sarah Paulson, and Zachary Quinto will be on continue on AHS as entirely different characters. Season two will be set in an East Coast mental institution.

Will Levine’s presence on American Horror Story help the show or is just a bad case of stunt casting?
