ABC has given a full season order to its freshmen drama series The Rookie starring Nathan Fillion. The police drama chronicles a rookie cop that takes a leap of faith and leaves his small town life, and goes to Los Angeles to become apart of the Los Angeles Police Department at the age of 40 and has to overcome obstacles of being the oldest rookie in the room.
Even though The Rookie hasn’t been a critical or ratings breakout success story this season, ABC is happy with average of 4.8 million viewers through its first three episodes this season, improving upon last years time slot occupant Kevin (Probably) Saves the World. The Rookie joins ABC’s other freshmen fall series Single Parents and A Million Little Things in securing full season worth of episodes.
The Rookie airs Tuesday nights at 10/9c on ABC
