Emmy Talk with JWalk: Possible Outstanding Comedy Series Nominees

Posted by

Welcome to Emmy Talk with JWalk!

This is TV Talk with JWalk’s official kick off to the 2019 Emmy Awards season. Here is where you’ll find all my predictions, analysis, trends from prior Emmys, and random thoughts leading up to television’s biggest night! I’m going to kick things off with my favorite category, Outstanding Comedy Series.

Currently, I have 15 series in possible contention to earn a coveted nomination, but as we inch closer to the Emmys, I’ll be narrowing down to 8 nominees (the amount of comedies nominated last year). Over time, I’ll be breaking down and eliminating series from the list in hopes in predicting the nominees correctly.

My early predictions for Outstanding Comedy Series:

  • Veep (HBO)
  • The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (Amazon)
  • The Kominsky Method (Netflix)
  • Barry (HBO)
  • black-ish (ABC)
  • The Good Place (NBC)
  • GLOW (Netflix)
  • Curb Your Enthusiasm (HBO)
  • Black Monday (Showtime)
  • Kidding (Showtime)
  • Pen15 (Hulu)
  • Russian Doll (Netflix)
  • Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (Netflix)
  • The Big Bang Theory (CBS)
  • Schitt’s Creek (CBC/Pop)

Are any of these shows on your Emmys radar? Did I forget any?

2019 Emmy nominations will be announced Tuesday, July 16th, get ready for a lot of coverage leading to the final day as potential nominees heat up or cool off.
