NBC and Fox announced renewals for next season. Hell’s Kitchen has received a two-season pickup, and NBC has renewed Chicago PD, Chicago Med, and Chicago Fire.
NBC’s “One Chicago” programming block has paid off for the network this season as all three Chicago series are averaging over 11 million viewers on Wednesday nights. Ratings of all three shows have risen year over year in total audiences. The Dick Wolf-produced franchise often does crossover storylines so having all three series on one night also makes it easier for audiences to follow along during crossover events. For the 2019-2020 season, Chicago Fire will be entering its eight season, Chicago PD will be entering its seventh season, and Chicago Med will be entering its fifth.
Fox is also betting bet on Gordon Ramsey by ordering two more seasons of long-running Hell’s Kitchen. The two additional seasons will be the 19th and 20th installments of the cooking competition. Ramsey’s other Fox reality entities include Masterchef, Masterchef Junior, and Gordon Ramsay’s 24 Hours to Hell and Back.
CBS recently announced renewals for next season including The Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon, Mom, and The Neighborhood.
