CBS is very close in locking up their 2019-2020 schedule today. In addition to renewing six returning drama series, the network is adding a FBI spinoff, FBI: Most Wanted, bringing producer Dick Wolf’s broadcast drama count to six, and a drama series from The Good Wife/The Good Fight creators Robert and Michelle King, among others.
CBS is expanding the FBI franchise with FBI: Most Wanted starring Julian McMahon (Nip/Tuck) centering on the FBI bureau that focuses on capturing notorious fugitives on the FBI’s Most Wanted list. Robert and Michelle King extend their relationship with CBS with Evil, a psychological mystery-thriller that “examines science versus religion and the origins of evil.” Mike Colter (Luke Cage) and Katja Herbers (Westworld) star as a blue-collar contractor and a forensic psychologist, respectively, investigating paranormal miracles and demonic possessions.
According to CBS’ official press release, All Rise is an ensemble legal drama starring CSI alum Marg Helgenberger that “follows the dedicated, chaotic, hopeful and sometimes absurd lives of judges, prosecutors and public defenders as they work with bailiffs, clerks and cops to get justice for the people of Los Angeles.
CBS also ordered four comedies for next season including the CBS return of Everybody Loves Raymond star Patricia Heaton and Bob Hearts Abhisola from Chuck Lorre.
