NBC announced its fall 2019 schedule today and fourth year comedy The Good Place is the heart of the networks plan heading into the fall, being promoted the legendary 9p.m. timeslot on Thursday night. Along side The Good Place, NBC plans to launch fellow Mike Schur-produced comedy Sunnyside starring Kal Penn at 9:30p.m. Superstore will continue at 8p.m. leading into Bradley Whitford’s new comedy Perfect Harmony, andLaw & Order: SVU will remain at 10p.m. for its historic 21st season.
NBC decided to play it safe on Tuesdays, Wednesdays Fridays, and Sundays by keeping those nights unchanged. NBC continues the tradition of launching a new series after Monday night juggernaut The Voice. Bluff City Law starring Jimmy Smits, will be NBC’s latest attempt of finding a ratings success similar to this seasons modest hit Manifest, which has been renewed for a second season.
NBC plans to hold the remaining of its veteran series Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Will & Grace, Good Girls, Manifest, Blindspot, Ellen’s Game of Games, Little Big Shots, America’s Got Talent: The Champions and World of Dance will return midseason. Also being held for midsesaon are newcomers The Kenan Show, Council of Dads, Zoe’s Extraordinary Playlist, Indebted, and Lincoln.
