The next season of Schitt’s Creek will unfortunately be its last.
The announcement came this morning from Schitt’s Creek creators and stars Dan and Eugene Levy. It’s original broadcaster CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) and its American cable home Pop renewed the offbeat comedy for a sixth season consisting of fourteen episodes, and the decision of ending the series seems to be a joint decision by the Levy’s to end the show while on top. Season six is set to premiere sometime next year.
Thanks to streaming on Netflix, Schitt’s Creek has found the heart of millions of Americans and has been building a loyal audience over the last few years. Catherine O’Hara, Annie Murphy, Sarah Levy, Emily Hampshire, and Chris Elliott also star.
Schitt’s Creek airs on Pop Wednesdays at 10/9c on Pop.
